Softwarica College signed MOU with Latrobe University, Melbourne for a credit transfer facility.
Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce, Sunway International Business School, Kathmandu under Softed Group and La Trobe University, Australia have signed an articulation agreement under which students pursuing Bsc(Hons) programmes at both colleges can now study first year in either of the above courses and directly transfer to the relevant programs at La Trobe University, Melbourne Campus in Second year of undergraduate studies.
This agreement would enable Nepalese Students to commence their studies at both colleges, Kathmandu and complete in Australia with a significant cost savings.
Additionally, merit based scholarships are also available within this provision.
The agreement was signed in an event hosted by La Trobe University, Melbourne Campus by Mr. Bigyan Shrestha, Chairman of Softwarica College and by Pramod Poudel Director of Sunway International Business School and Professor Prakash Veeraraghavan of La Trobe University.
Mr. Pramod Poudel, Director of Softwarica College and Sunway College, Kathmandu who oversaw the whole process added that there are possible avenues for further understanding for research collaboration, faculty and student exchange programs and other joint academic initiatives between these two institutions.
Mr. Bigyan Shrestha, who is also leading Softed Group of Companies as a Chairman, further elaborated that this kind of agreement with reputed Universities such as La Trobe, enhances Nepal’s recognition in the international education sector and could play an important role in promoting Nepal as an education destination of South Asia.
Professor Amalia Di Iorio, Pro Vice Chancellor, Educational Partnerships of La Trobe University expressed her happiness by saying that she is pleased that La Trobe University is able to partner with a reputed institution like Softwarica College and Sunway International Business School in Nepal and look forward to welcoming all students transferring to La Trobe University.
