Journey from Student to Lecturer – Prerna Pandit

I believe every individual has a different story to narrate either being a student or a lecturer, but somehow few stanzas of every story are related to one another. That’s how we become a family at college, who have broken the stereotypes and are now making their own way forward. Meanwhile, I consider my time in Softwarica as my most valuable experience where I feel blessed to build up a good connection with teachers, my classmates, students, and whole Softwarica team.

To begin with, I would like to share my experience of being Softwarican as a student which started from 2017 to 2020. Stepping ahead to my studies after a gap of more than three years, I was lucky enough to be supported by Amrit Thapa sir, as he trusted me and gave me a confidence of achieving something big in my life. Taking his words into my life as a motto, I studied hard with the continuous support and guidance from every subject teacher that led me to be topper of my batch. I can call it a proud moment for me as well while achieving higher grades on each semester and got an opportunity to receive full scholarship for which I am thankful to every leading head of Softwarica.

Besides on academics, Softwarica has given me a chance to sharpen my skills in different fields. There have been, and there will continue to be, many opportunities to learn more ways of becoming disciplined, time management whiz, pro at navigating tough conversations, gain perseverance, and most importantly strengthening own integrity, which I am truly thankful for. For instance, in these consecutive years, I was not only able to strengthen my academic skills but also, I was able to make a good friends circle for my lifetime with whom I still remember those assignment days, participating on hackathons, meeting at IT clubs, random gossips and many more.

On the contrary, I am not going to lie, I never wanted to choose teacher as my profession but as soon as I accomplished my final semester, I got an opportunity to get enrolled at Softwarica as a teacher which became my best pathway for my career and personal development. Of course, I was incredibly nervous on my first day of teaching. First of all, I was not even sure if I was cut out to be a teacher, and second of all, the thought of watching and teaching a bunch of students was overwhelming. Nonetheless, my first day went better than I expected all because of having a mentor like Manoj Shrestha sir and support from all full-time teachers. They guided me in each and every step throughout this phase and I am sure they will never leave my hand in every ups and downs in future too. Time flew so fast, it feels like I started teaching a few days back, making lesson plans, assigning assessments, reviewing, or grading the papers, lunch/ tea with teachers, cracking jokes at class and faculty room and so on, I have already started missing all stuffs. However, the day have arrived for saying goodbye to the college for my further studies, but I will miss these days throughout my life. I can honestly say I have lived life to the fullest and never gave up when I thought life in itself was over. I never thought I would be where I am today.

In summary, my time in college has enriched my life in many ways. It has provided me with the necessary tools to enhance my skills more, taught me valuable knowledge about this diverse world and people and concepts in general and eventually will enable me to hopefully become more successful in life. It also has stressed to me the importance of thinking critically and asking questions in many situations.

All these aspects of college have also made me more well-rounded as a person. These experiences are truly irreplaceable, and I would not trade them for anything. Last but not the least, I want to express my gratitude to overall Softwarica team for believing in me and making my days memorable.
